Juliette A. Jackson J.D, LL.M
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Juliette A. Jackson, J.D, LL.M is an enrolled member of the Klamath Tribes and granddaughter of Boyd Jackson Jr. (Klamath Tribes) and Clara Peikert (Mono Cold Springs Rancheria/Bishop Paiute Tribe), great granddaughter of Boyd Jackson Sr. (former Chairman & Washington D.C. Delegate during the termination hearings) and Clara Bussell (Hoopa/Wintu), great+ granddaughter of Chief Isaac Jackson (Pit River) and Sally Sheepy (Modoc), and great + granddaughter of Chief Shapasheni "Old Sheepy" of the Hot Creek Band of Modoc. After termination in 1954, her grandmother moved around and eventually settled in Northern California with her father and uncles. Juliette grew up in Folsom, California and has returned home to reconnect and help with imminent environmental advocacy.
Juliette is an Indigenous rights lawyer specialized in energy and environmental law, and is part of the Protecting Mother Earth Collective; a partnership between the Indigenous Environmental Network and Earth Law Center. She authored the law review article Stop Killing the Klamath: Rights of Nature Protections with Tribal Law, the National Historic Preservation Act, and Collaborative Management Strategies for a Tribe on the Front Lines of Climate Change, which has attracted substantial attention in the field of tribal environmental justice. Before completing her Juris Doctor degree, she worked as a paralegal, policy researcher, and campaign organizer.

Derek Kimbol B.S
DIRECTOR OF SUSTAINABILITY
Derek Kimbol is the founder of Maqlqs Gaa’tkni. With over 25 years of experience with forestry and watershed restoration experience, he formed the non-profit to provide a bridge between the systems and resources he has formed connections to in his educational and professional journey and the youth in the Native communities of Southern Oregon.
Derek is an enrolled member of the Klamath Tribes, holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon in Environmental Science, and is a dedicated member of his community, coaching sports teams and engaging with local schools.

Anna Merrit
DIRECTOR OF ECO-RESTORATION & ECO-CULTURE
Anna is an enrolled member of the Klamath Tribes and an emerging Ecological Planning Leader dedicated to restoring balance between land, fire, and community. Grounded in Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) and informed by contemporary ecological science, her work centers on cultural fire, watershed restoration, and long-term land stewardship.

Monika Bilka, PhD
HISTORIAN
As a young child, Monika lived in Sprague River and went to preschool in Chiloquin, OR. She spent the rest of her childhood growing up in Klamath Falls, OR and is an administrator at a local college. She is a specialist of the Klamath Tribes history, having researched it for more than 20 years. Monika holds a bachelor’s in environmental science with a minor in fluvial geomorphology, a master’s in environmental studies with a focus in Native American and environmental history, and a PhD in history with an emphasis in federal Indian policy and environmental policy. Monika has hiked, fished, backpacked, kayaked, cross country skied, and watched moonrises throughout the Klamath Tribes’ ancestral territory. She is passionate about supporting the Klamath Tribes’ cultural preservation and ecological restoration and is honored to collaborate with this team.

M Chen, J.D
PROGRAM MANAGER
Chen is honored to help restore her dear friend’s ancestral homelands while defending the TEK value system and its enforceability in and out of court. Learning and working with the First People of North America, she feels blessed to contribute to the Klamath Tribes in her small way.

Lily Copenagle, PhD, MS
OPERATIONS MANAGER
Born in a hand-built house in the Klamath Mountains, Lily has a deep connection to the land and a fierce commitment to reparations, restoration, and Land Back. A research scientist by training, she now applies her skills to bringing in to being the world she wants to live in.
